Ant + Sera COLLECT
Designer Collaboration

Botanical inspired sgraffito ceramic vases and bowls as part of a collaboration between myself and well known South African ceramicist Anthony Shapiro for his retail store COLLECT. Anthony provided me with the vases and bowls, and I carved the designs on to them using a technique called Sgraffito. These were launched at a design show called Handmade Contemporary in Johannesburg, South Africa.

"Sgraffito is a form of decoration made by scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting colour, typically done in plaster or stucco on walls, or in slip on ceramics before firing."
